Biography
Asmaa Elsayed is a doctoral candidate in Global Studies in Education with a minor in Gender Relations in International Development at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She earned her Master of Arts in International Development from American University School of International Service and her Master of Education in International Education Policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Asmaa has worked in the field of international education for the past ten years. Her academic and professional interests include women and gender studies, global education, identity development, healing, resilience, and holistic well-being.
Outside of academia, Asmaa enjoys reading and writing, classical music, vegan food, and traveling. In Summer 2019, she led the first New Zealand Study Abroad Program with the College of Education.
