We are happy to highlight a recent publication co-authored by Professor Lara-Cinisomo. Written alongside lead author Mary Ellen Mendy, "Addressing Gaps in Mental Health Policy: The Urgent Need to Support Perinatal Latinas" was published in Women's Health Issues. The commentary examines how systemic gaps -- including limited access to services, immigration-related restrictions, and a shortage of language-concordant care -- exacerbate mental health disparities among perinatal Latinas, offering actionable Medicaid policy recommendations to expand coverage and language access.
